Sports Connect Education Sports Connect Education is a national program managed by the Australian Sports Commission . TASRAD is the coordinating body in Tasmania and has been since 1997. Sports Connect Education consists of a variety of courses that are designed to support sport and recreation providers to better include people with a disability. We do this via 7 modules: Module 1: Count Me In (also available online) A general community sport and awareness workshop suitable for anyone and everyone interested or involved in the provision of sporting opportunities that include people with a disability. Module 2: Getting Ready for SchoolA sport, physical education and disability awareness workshop focusing on the inclusion of young people with a disability into school-based sport and physical activity programs. Module 3: Opening Doors for People with a Disability A practical workshop that assists sporting organisations develop strategies to attract and retain people with a disability as members. Module 4: Play By the RulesA workshop that helps sporting organisations understand and deal with issues of disability discrimination and meet their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Module 5: What is Disability Sport? A practical workshop that demystifies what disability sport is all about, dealing with issues of classification and Paralympic sport.
